From a dedicated family lagoon to a serene adults-only beach, Ocean Cay is redefining what a tropical cruise stop can be.      A Feast for the Senses: New Dining Experiences  Foodies, rejoice! Ocean Cay will soon boast four new dining venues, bringing the total to seven. Guests can indulge in everything from casual buffets and food markets to a signature specialty restaurant. Whether you crave fresh seafood, international flavours, or relaxed beachside bites, every meal becomes part of the island adventure.      Family Fun Comes Alive at Seakers Cove  Parents, take note: Seakers Cove Family Beach is getting a major upgrade. Imagine kids splashing in the water, climbing ropes courses, playing table-tennis or foosball and enjoying interactive games - all while adults relax nearby. With playgrounds, splashpads and fun-filled tournaments, this dedicated family zone guarantees memories for every generation.    Adults-Only Paradise: Relax, Sip & Unwind  For those seeking peace and tranquillity, Paradise Sands offers an exclusive adults-only retreat. Lounge under the sun by day and let the beach transform into a romantic sunset haven with cocktails in hand. It’s the perfect spot to recharge and soak in the beauty of the Bahamas.    Luxury Cabanas & More Relaxation  With more cabanas scattered across the island, guests can pick their ideal spot to relax in comfort and style. From cozy nooks near the water to shaded retreats with ocean views, Ocean Cay’s cabanas are designed for your ultimate beach day.      Dive Into Marine Conservation  Ocean Cay isn’t just about sun and sand - it’s also a hub for marine conservation. The MSC Foundation’s “Shifting Perspective” Experience offers interactive ways to explore ocean ecosystems, restore coral reefs, and discover the wonders of marine life. Guests can get hands-on with science while enjoying a breathtaking island setting.      Pier Expansion & Little Cay: More Ways to Explore  Construction is underway to extend the pier, allowing two ships to dock simultaneously. This means more guests can experience the island’s beauty at the same time, without waiting.  MSC Cruises is also developing a second private island, Little Cay, which will stay true to Ocean Cay’s ethos: pristine beaches, luxury amenities and immersive nature experiences. It’s the next step in MSC’s vision for sustainable, unforgettable Caribbean adventures.    Why Ocean Cay is a Must-Visit  Since opening in 2019, Ocean Cay has captivated guests with its turquoise waters, white sand beaches and unique experiences. Transformed from an industrial site into a thriving marine reserve, it’s a destination that combines fun, luxury and sustainability. Awarded Hope Spot status by Mission Blue and recognized for marine conservation, the island is a living testament to MSC Cruises’ commitment to the ocean and its ecosystems.    Plan Your MSC Cruise to Ocean Cay  Whether you’re traveling with family, friends or seeking a peaceful adults-only escape, Ocean Cay offers something for everyone. With new dining, family-friendly attractions, serene retreats, and hands-on conservation experiences, there’s never been a better time to explore this tropical paradise.  Book your MSC Caribbean cruise today and be among the first to experience the all-new Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in 2027.

Our experience on board MSC Seaside

Our experience on board MSC Seaside

Exploring the Mediterranean with MSC Cruises Our recent MSC Cruises sailing was a fantastic opportunity to experience the MSC Seaside ship the onboard activities, dining, and ports first-hand. From embarkation to disembarkation, here’s a full overview of what made this cruise so memorable.  Embarkation & First Impressions  Boarding was smooth and straightforward, within 20–30 minutes, we were on board, our luggage taken care of, and cruise cards waiting on our cabin doors. The ship itself immediately impressed with its modern, grand, and spacious design. Each deck offered something to explore, from lounges and bars to sparkling features like the Swarovski staircases in the atrium. The décor was a mix of stylish modern, with some darker maroon tones in the suite areas, giving a cozy yet elegant vibe.  Accommodation  We stayed in a balcony cabin, which was spacious and well-appointed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the cabin included a sofa, a dressing table with a large mirror, and a generous wardrobe for storage. The bathroom was well-sized, and the balcony offered a lovely private space to enjoy the views. While some areas of the stateroom felt darker compared to the bright atrium, it was still very comfortable and practical for a cruise stay.  Entertainment & Activities  MSC Seaside has a wide variety of entertainment options. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub with views of La Spezia and taking part in karaoke at The Garage Club, which had an American diner feel and drew guests from different countries, singing in multiple languages. The disco at South Beach Bar was lively, and the sail-away party, with its snow machine, was a highlight!  Our favourite entertainment was watching the salsa dancing in the Haven Lounge. Guests enthusiastically joined the instructors, and it was a fun, interactive experience that really captured the spirit of the cruise.     Dining & Drinks  The dining options on board were excellent, with plenty of choice to suit all tastes. We dined at the buffet, main dining rooms, and the speciality Mexican restaurant, Hola Tacos.  At the buffet, breakfast included a delicious cheese omelette and fresh pastries, lunch offered build-your-own cheeseburgers and fresh salads, and dinner featured cheesy pizzas and flavourful crispy chicken with peppers.  Hola Tacos was a standout experience. The service was engaging, and the food exceeded expectations. We enjoyed nachos with guacamole, soft shell tacos with pork, beef, chicken, and steak, plus burritos and enchiladas in a creamy cheese sauce. The combination of value, taste, and friendly service made it our favourite dining experience on board.  Other speciality options included Butcher’s Cut for steaks, Kaito Sushi, and Pan Asian, offering Japanese, Hawaiian, and European fusion cuisine. Vegetarian and vegan options were available across all venues.  Service  Service onboard was generally friendly and attentive. Some staff were exceptional—like Paul, the bartender in the Sports Bar, who remembered my name and greeted me each time, and Rajeev, our waiter at Hola, who made our dining experience extra fun, overall, the crew were welcoming and helpful.  Ports of Call  We visited La Spezia and Marseille.  La Spezia: We took a short taxi ride to Porto Venere, a charming village with colourful streets, a castle, and stunning coastal views. We climbed to the San Pietro Church, walked through the archway to Byron’s Grotto, and enjoyed focaccia and an Aperol spritz on the waterfront. A ferry ride back to the ship for just €8 was a lovely, scenic option.  Marseille: We strolled along the yacht marina, explored the Panier district with its street art and vibrant squares, and visited the stunning Notre-Dame de la Garde. Both ports were perfect for independent exploration, without the need for formal shore excursions.  Standout Tips & Highlights  Hola Tacos: A must-visit specialty restaurant for its value, engaging staff, and delicious food.  Porto Venere Ferry: In La Spezia, taking the €8 ferry back from Porto Venere is a scenic and affordable alternative to taxis.  Premium Drinks Package: Upgrading gives much more freedom across all bars, especially for specialty restaurant drinks.    Looking for a cruise that combines modern style, diverse dining, interactive entertainment, and beautiful Mediterranean ports, MSC Cruises offers a fantastic choice.  If you have any questions about sailing aboard MSC Cruises or want to discover our latest cruise offers, our expert team is ready to assist. Enjoy personalised service, insider knowledge, and exclusive deals you won’t find anywhere else. Call our Cruise Concierge today on 0808 274 9725.

Your On board Experience Aboard MSC Poesia

Your On board Experience Aboard MSC Poesia

Why MSC Poesia is the Perfect Choice  When most people picture cruising today, they think of giant floating cities with waterparks, roller coasters, and thousands of guests. But many travellers want something more personal and traditional. That’s where MSC Poesia shines!   Carrying about 2,500 guests, Poesia offers the charm of a classic, intimate cruise ship. With fewer passengers, lounges feel relaxed, public spaces more open, and quiet spaces which are easier to find, whether by the pool, in a cozy bar, or on deck.  Blending elegance and tradition, the ship features marble and crystal details, nightly shows, live music, and attentive dining with international menus. Which mean it is a calm, elegant, community-focused experience where you can truly connect with the ship, its crew, and fellow guests.  Top Tips While Onboard MSC Poesia  To make the most of your cruise, here are some insider tips:  Explore the Zen Garden Spa early – It’s quieter on embarkation day or while the ship is in port. Book a treatment ahead of time for the best availability.  Don’t miss the aft pool – While the main pool can get busy, the pool at the back of the ship is usually more peaceful and offers stunning wake views.  Try the sushi bar – Poesia has one of MSC’s well-loved Japanese dining spots, perfect for something a little different.  Discover live music throughout the lounges – Whether Broadway-style theatre shows or themed parties, every space feels warm and welcoming.   Use the promenade decks – Instead of heading straight for the buffet, enjoy an early-morning stroll outside to soak up the sea air.  Book shore excursions in advance – Being on a smaller ship means ports are easier to enjoy, but popular tours can sell out quickly.  Make friends with the crew – With fewer guests, you’ll often see the same smiling faces in restaurants and bars, which adds to the sense of community onboard.    Perfect for Relaxation  MSC Poesia is an excellent choice if you’re seeking a calmer holiday. Instead of navigating endless decks of attractions, you can simply relax, enjoy the sea views, and connect with fellow travellers. Its spa, serene lounges, and open deck space encourage you to slow down and savour your time at sea.  If you have any questions about sailing with MSC Poesia or would like to know more about the incredible offers available, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Our team provides personalised service, alongside first-hand experience and exclusive offers you won’t find elsewhere. Simply call our Cruise Concierge today on 0808 274 9725.

Cruising with a baby and a toddler on-board MSC Preziosa

Cruising with a baby and a toddler on-board MSC Preziosa

Cruising with a baby and a toddler on-board MSC Preziosa View MSC Preziosa Deals I've cruised with my husband before we had kids, and without a doubt, they were our best holidays ever. Fast forward three years and we find ourselves with a two-year-old and a six-month-old about to embark on a cruise ship for the first time in what seems like forever. To cut a long story short, we all had an amazing time on-board MSC Preziosa. But, as anyone with kids will know, travelling as a family can take a bit more preparation than travelling as a couple. So, here are some handy things that I learned during our cruise with the kids. Peppa Pig World First things first, the most important item on our two-year-old's agenda – going to see Peppa. The day before our cruise we visited Peppa Pig World, which is part of Paulton’s Park. The theme park is really close to Southampton and the ideal place for anyone with young children to call at either before or after a cruise. Paulton’s Park isn’t just for Peppa fans – it is great for older kids too. It is absolutely huge and has some really good rides for everyone to enjoy.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] The food My kids have a habit of not eating on holiday. Not so long ago our two-year-old went for four days on nothing but grapes. So for us, it's important that there is plenty of choice for the kids. We are also vegetarians, so that can add to the challenge. However, we needn’t have worried. The buffet was huge, with plenty for everyone to enjoy, particularly at lunchtimes. It was great to introduce our 6-month-old to things he had never tried before, even if he did throw most of it on the floor![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] The main restaurant The main restaurant on-board MSC Preziosa was stunning – really swanky. It was a bit daunting taking a baby and a toddler into such a nice place, but our waiter, Tri, soon put us at ease and the other diners were lovely. There were two kids’ menus – one for six to 12 months and one for 12 months plus. The staff were also happy to make adjustments to this for us, such as making a smaller portion of something from the main menu. Tri was great, always greeting the children by name and making origami animals for our toddler to play with during dinner.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] Taking a pram on-board We opted to leave our huge double pram at home and instead took a single buggy and a baby carrier. This was definitely the right choice for us – other people with side-by-side doubles found that they couldn’t unfold them in the corridors by their rooms as linen carts and trolleys often blocked the way. They had to carry the pram folded until they got to the lift area. We borrowed a second buggy from the kids club of the ship – this free service was fantastic and meant that we didn’t often use the baby carrier as the kids then had a pram each. The only downside was that it didn’t come with a rain cover so our toddler got absolutely soaked during a day out in Hamburg. Luckily she didn’t mind too much.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] The accommodation We opted for an inside stateroom. I was a bit intrigued to see how we’d all fit in there, but it was actually really spacious. When we arrived I was shocked to see there was a double bed and two bunk beds that fold out of the ceiling above – not ideal for a baby and a toddler! However, after a quick trip to guest services, someone came with a travel cot and put up a guard rail on one of the bunks so that our toddler couldn’t fall out. She actually loved it and said that it was just like Peppa Pig’s camper van. We were pleased to find a kettle in our room. This made the task of preparing milk for our six-month-old much easier. I was expecting to use the hot water in the buffet area, so having a kettle in the room was a nice surprise.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] The drinks packages We purchased an all-inclusive drinks package for £20 per person per day and found it to be excellent value for money – much cheaper than some other cruise lines. Cocktails were about £7 and a pint of beer about £4, so it is really easy to get your money worth on-board. Children under three don’t need to buy a drinks package, so we didn’t get one for Leonie. However, every time I went to the bar I ordered three drinks and nobody seemed to mind.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] The kids club There was a kids club on-board where you can leave one and two year olds for an hour at certain times. (Older kids can stay all day). Our toddler had a great time and seemed to come back with free gifts each time including a t-shirt that changes colour in the sun and a pair of fairy wings! For babies under one, parents can accompany children to play with the baby toys, but you can’t leave them there.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] The entertainment We all really enjoyed the stage shows. The dancers, singer and acrobats were so good that the children had no problem sitting and watching the shows for an hour. Our little girl's favourite performers were the ‘bendy ladies’, so much so that she decided that is what she wants to do when she grows up.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] The waterpark MSC Preziosa has an amazing kids’ waterpark. However, it only opens in good weather, so we didn’t get to use it during our late September trip around Northern Europe. I can imagine that it would be a wonderful place to enjoy during the summer months or in a warmer destination.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] The verdict To summarise – MSC Preziosa was a great ship for anyone travelling with babies or toddlers. Granted, it doesn’t have the climbing walls, ice rinks and zip-wires that you will find on some larger ships. But if you are travelling with under threes, you won’t have time for all that anyway. If you fancy sailing on-board this stunning ship, give our Cruise Concierge team a call on 0808 1234 118 for expert guidance and assistance on your booking.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] Deals for MSC Cruises ships MSC Preziosa from 2025-08-01 to 2027-12-09 View MSC Preziosa Deals

What is it like cruising to the Norwegian Fjords with MSC Cruises?

What is it like cruising to the Norwegian Fjords with MSC Cruises?

What is it like cruising to the Norwegian Fjords with MSC Cruises?  Cruises To The Norwegian Fjords Our product executive Chantelle shares her unforgettable family journey aboard MSC Virtuosa through the breathtaking Norwegian Fjords. MSC Cruises  With a growing fleet of innovative ships and a strong focus on affordability for families, MSC Cruises is fast becoming a standout choice for those looking to experience the magic of the Norwegian Fjords—without sacrificing comfort or style. On Board MSC Virtuosa As a cruise specialist and parent, I’ve been lucky to experience a variety of ships—but our time aboard MSC Virtuosa was something truly special. From the moment we stepped on board, we were welcomed with warmth and energy by MSC’s amazing crew. The ship itself is beautiful—sleek, modern, and packed with features that cater to families, couples, and solo travellers. Despite being one of MSC’s newer and larger ships, Virtuosa somehow balances that wow-factor with a relaxed, easygoing vibe—something that really struck me during our days at sea. Foodies are in for a treat too. Dining is flexible and varied, with standout venues like: HOLA! Tacos – casual, fun, and delicious (don’t skip the frozen margaritas!) from £16pp pre booked, well worth it!  Marketplace Buffet – great for families with kids Kaito Sushi and other specialty restaurants that are well worth pre-booking Whether you want quick bites or a special night out, it’s easy to find your perfect spot. Our Family Stay On Board  We stayed in a Balcony Cabin, and I can’t recommend it enough for a Fjords itinerary. Waking up to mist-covered mountains, sailing past waterfalls from your own private space—it’s the kind of memory that stays with you. For families, MSC offers a variety of options to suit different needs and budgets, and what impressed me most were the generous discounts and family-first policies, including: Infants under 2 sail free Single Parent Discounts Family Comfort Offers when booking two cabins on one reference  These are thoughtful touches that make a real difference for families considering a cruise.   Exploring the Norwegian Fjords  This itinerary is pure magic. We docked in places like Haugesund, Nordfjordeid, Stavanger—each offering something truly special. What surprised me was how easy it was to explore without a formal excursion. Most ports are right at the heart of town, allowing you to stroll at your own pace, soak up the views, and discover hidden gems along the way. Our personal highlight? Sailing through Geirangerfjord at sunrise. The waterfalls, cliffs, and soft morning light created an almost cinematic moment—made even better with a coffee in hand from our balcony.   On board Activites & Entertainment  Sea days were never boring—especially with a child in tow. Between the indoor and outdoor pools, the Savannah Aquapark, and interactive arcade (don’t miss the Fun Pass deal! from £70) there was always something to do. The Himalayan Bridge high-ropes course was a thrill, and the themed nights—like White Night and 70s Disco—brought a festive buzz in the evenings. Whether you wanted to dance the night away or wind down in the Champagne Bar, the ship offered something for every energy level. Deals for MSC Cruises ships MSC Virtuosa from 2025-08-04 to 2027-12-31 Little Moments That Made a Big Difference  One little moment stood out: after a full day of exploring and a family dinner at HOLA! Tacos, we returned to our cabin to find our son’s teddy tucked in bed, with a chocolate on his pillow. It may sound small, but these personal touches really made us feel seen and looked after. The crew genuinely seemed to love being part of our experience—and that kind of hospitality is what sets MSC apart. If you’ve ever dreamed of exploring the Norwegian Fjords—and want a cruise that blends stunning scenery with family comfort and value—MSC Cruises delivers. Our fam trip aboard Virtuosa exceeded all expectations. 11 Unusual Cruise Ship Cabins

11 Unusual Cruise Ship Cabins

11 Unusual Cruise Ship Cabins View Balcony Cruise Deals A cruise ship cabin is an important factor of your sailing, whether you’re a serial suite booker or a lover of inside staterooms. There are many staterooms to choose from when it comes to booking your cruise, but which are the most unusual? Here are 11 of our favourite places to rest your head which are a little out of the ordinary. Zipline Balcony Oasis of the Seas Featured in Balcony cabins which overlook the Boardwalk neighbourhood on-board Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas, passengers not only get to stay in the industry’s first in-facing balconies but also gain fantastic views of the zipline as fellow cruisers fly nine decks above them! AquaTheater Suite Oasis-Class ships Only available on the Oasis Class ships the AquaTheater Suites offer up to eight guests a large space to unwind. Their key feature, and the reason they are named ‘AquaTheater Suites’, is that they boasts a huge wraparound balcony with views to the AquaTheater and surroundings. MSC Zoe Fleetwide MSC Cruises’ latest addition of Zoe is the first-of-its-kind. Featured in all cabins aboard MSC Bellissima, and soon to be fleetwide, the assistant is able to answer hundreds of questions about life on-board, help with excursion and restaurant reservations, as well as answering a huge range of unique customer queries. So far, she can answer 800 questions in seven languages and 30 different accents across the globe. But she doesn’t stop there. Her artificial intelligence means she is continually expanding her knowledge and offering a more personalised experience for passengers. She can offer instant information about cruise events, entertainment, journey updates or just playing music to get ready to. Virtual Balcony Symphony, Harmony, Spectrum, Anthem, Ovation, Quantum, Navigator, Explorer and Voyager of the Seas Featuring an 80-inch high-definition screen which spans almost floor to ceiling, Royal Caribbean’s Virtual Balconies are a unique and contemporary way to view the world outside without having to book an ocean view or balcony. The staterooms offer a real-time view of the ocean and destinations streamed from either the front or back of the ship, depending on which way your room is facing. There’s even sound added for effect, curtains and a virtual balcony rail to offer a ‘real feel’ to your inside cabin. The whole balcony can be switched off if guests wish, but it adds a great perspective on outside weather and give a new dimension to the cabin. Edge Stateroom with Infinite Balcony Edge-Class ships Offering 27% more space than staterooms on the rest of the fleet, Celebrity Cruises’ innovative Edge Staterooms with Infinite Balcony are one-of-a-kind. The unique factor is the balcony, which has a window operated from a control panel to extend the stateroom and bring the outside in. When the bi-fold doors and window is open, the space is great and really opens up your stateroom within a truly transformational setting. These staterooms are exclusively available on-board Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Apex, and any future Edge-Class ships. Ultimate Family Suite Symphony of the Seas and Spectrum of the Seas Exactly as described, this suite is the ultimate must for families wanting fun memories! Jam-packed with a huge TV, air-hockey table, LEGO wall, hot tub and even a slide that connects the upper level with the ground it’s the perfect place to hang out and enjoy each other’s company while cruising. There’s only two bedrooms, one for the parents and one for kids which sleeps four. There is also a sofa bed in the living room which sleeps two, so the total number to stay in this suite is up to eight. Ben & Jerrys ‘Sweet’ Freedom-Class ships A stateroom that includes free ice cream sounds like a dream, but it’s a reality on-board Royal Caribbean’s Freedom Class ships (Independence, Liberty and Freedom of the Seas). Stateroom 6305 is Promenade Stateroom with a difference, overlooking the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream shop with two cows prominently displayed in the window. Aptly named the Ben & Jerry’s ‘Sweet’, the cruise line plays on the unusual view with perks such as daily complimentary ice cream for each guest; access to the Concierge Lounge; and reservations for the ice show. Within the room décor mirror bovine-themes with cow artwork, trinkets, and cow print soft furnishings for a truly unique stateroom to enjoy! Edge Villa Edge-Class ships Designed for the Edge-Class, these suites offer an exciting new category of staterooms for guests to enjoy. The unusual offering is that the Edge Villa is set across two floors, with private plunge pools and floor-to-ceiling windows as well as an expanse of 739 square feet of space! Though Celebrity Cruises aren’t the first cruise line to offer two-storey suites, the Edge Villas are styled to a contemporary level and include exclusive access to The Retreat; their own butler; a premium beverage package; unlimited speciality dining; and high-speed internet access. Sea Terrace Fleetwide Featured on-board brand-new cruise line, Virgin Voyages, all the staterooms are unique and unusual. However, the Sea Terrace stands out with its Roomy Rainshower and hand-woven terrace hammock as well as plenty other quirky features that you wouldn’t usually find in a typical balcony room. The rain showers offer a spa-like wash while the hammocks are hand-woven by artisans from Yellow Leaf – a social enterprise that fosters women’s empowerment and community transformation in rural Thailand. The stateroom features clever lighting with sensors that auto-adjust according to movements and changes between the day and night and there are PIR presence sensors which automatically switch to energy-saving mode when the cabin is empty. Lanai Stateroom Amsterdam, Zaandam, Rotterdam and Volendam ships The Lanai stateroom offers a roomy cruise experience on-board selected ships in the Holland America Line fleet. What makes these unique is the sliding door which leads directly into the walk-around Lower Promenade Deck, with instant access to reserved deck chairs to enjoy the stunning views at your leisure. Privacy is not compromised either as the glass for the sliding doors is one-way, so no one can peer into your stateroom when passing by. From virtual balconies to digital assistants, cruising offers a great range of places to stay and relax.
