As the first ship in Viking's ocean fleet, Viking Star introduced a new standard of small-ship luxury cruising, combining modern Scandinavian aesthetics with a focus on enrichment and destination immersion. The ship features 465 all-veranda staterooms, ensuring that every guest has a private outdoor space to enjoy breath-taking ocean views. Dining on board is a highlight, with Manfredi’s Italian Restaurant, serving authentic handmade pasta and premium steaks, and The Chef’s Table, which offers rotating multi-course tasting menus inspired by global flavours.

The Aquavit Terrace, an open-air dining and lounge area at the stern, provides a stunning setting for meals or drinks with an ocean backdrop. Meanwhile, The Wintergarden, a peaceful lounge adorned with light wood finishes and a retractable roof, offers a serene space for the daily afternoon tea service.

Wellness and relaxation are central to the Viking Star experience, with the LivNordic Spa offering a traditional Nordic bathing experience, including a snow grotto, sauna, and hydrotherapy pool. The infinity pool, extending over the edge of the stern, allows guests to feel as if they are floating above the sea. For cultural enrichment, the ship features lectures by guest speakers, cooking demonstrations, and classical music performances in the Atrium and Torshavn lounge.

When you yearn for serenity, there is no better place on ship than a visit to the Wintergarden. This charming, airy space around the main pool is perfect for relaxing in clean, uncluttered Scandinavian-designed environment. Even here, our focus is on enrichment, as this is the place to witness a tea ceremony, or indulge in an afternoon tea service, complete with hand-selected teas, finger sandwiches and pastries.

Blending the rejuvenating experience of Nordic therapies with the restorative power of the sea, Viking have reinvented the spa experience; drawing upon the holistic wellness philosophy of Nordic culture. To stimulate your circulatory system visit the snow grotto where snowflakes gently descend from the ceiling through chilled air, then invigorate yourself in the sauna, following a centuries-old Nordic tradition.

Bright and beautiful, The Spa is a destination in its own right. A sanctuary for body and soul, float in the gently bubbling water of the hydrotherapy pool, warmed by the sight of flickering flames of a full-length fireplace. Recline on a heated ceramic bed under soft lighting. Chill out in the Snow Grotto. Relax.
