Experiencing the Elegance of Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 

Last month, I had the incredible opportunity to sail aboard Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, exploring Northern Europe with stops in Bruges and Rotterdam. From the moment we arrived, the experience offered a unique blend of tradition, luxury, and quintessentially British charm. 

Embarkation & First Impressions 

Embarkation took a little extra time, giving us a chance to soak in the anticipation of setting sail. Once on board, we were quickly immersed in the beauty of the Queen Mary 2. My first impression? A magnificent ship steeped in history and tradition. While the layout encourages exploration and discovery, every turn reveals stunning décor, British artwork, and timeless elegance, creating an atmosphere that perfectly sets the tone for an unforgettable voyage. 

Accommodation: Princess Grill Suite 

I stayed in a Princess Grill Suite, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The suite offered generous space, a luxurious walk-in wardrobe, and an ultra-comfy bed with a plush duvet. The bathroom was spacious. For anyone looking for comfort, elegance, and a little extra pampering, this accommodation is the perfect choice. 

Entertainment & Activities 

I enjoyed several on board activities. Afternoon tea was a highlight, offering a delightful traditional British experience, while the silent disco was a great way to let loose and enjoy the evening. Other activities included quizzes, the G32 nightclub, and casual strolls around the beautifully designed decks. 

Dining & Drink 

Dining aboard the Queen Mary 2 is a treat. I spent three nights in the Princess Grill and sampled the buffet on another evening. While I’m a picky eater, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my preferences, demonstrating exceptional service. The a la carte menu in the Princess Grill was a standout; ordering dishes before 1 pm meant they were cooked at our table that evening. The rack of lamb I had was easily the best I’ve ever tasted. Room service for breakfast offered an equally impressive selection. Overall, the food quality, variety, and attentive service were outstanding. 

Service Excellence 

Service throughout the ship was consistently attentive and friendly. Our Princess Grill waiter quickly remembered our drink preferences, offered thoughtful recommendations, and went out of their way to ensure I had an enjoyable dining experience despite my selective tastes. It’s the kind of service that makes a voyage truly memorable.
